Figurehead are a 4 piece alternative pop/rock band from Fremantle, Western Australia, who formed late 2014 and have since been busy playing live, recording and developing their own catchy brand of indie pop.
The lads have just finished recording their second EP, which is planned for release mid 2017. Suits will be their first release off the EP, with a launch show set for 24th March. Suits was recorded at Poons Head in Fremantle with Rob Grant and mixed and mastered by Michael Jelinek at Jelly Sounds.
Over the past 2 years, Figurehead have played more than 50 live shows around Perth, including showcases at WAM 2015/16, the Beaufort Street Festival, Hyperfest, and support for San Cisco at the J-Shed.
In early 2015, they supported The Love Junkies on their USA tour fundraiser and the Perth leg of Lurch and Chief’s nationwide Breathe EP tour. Taking out second place at the Bayswater Sound Overload competition gave them the opportunity to start recording an EP and in April 2015, Figurehead released their debut single Blind, produced and engineered by Michael Jelinek. On the strength of this release, Figurehead secured radio airplay and qualified out of 207 entries for The Big Splash 2015, soon finding themselves in the semi-finals and winning the Enchantment Award.
Blind was voted the No.1 song of 2015 by Western.Oz radio listeners.
Figurehead released their debut EP on 19th November 2015 through iTunes and Spotify, with launch shows at Mojo’s Bar, Fremantle (with Gunns, Jacob Diamond and Moist Oyster) and YMCA HQ Leederville – all ages.
